Turkey has an extremely active late-night internet culture and chat volume here holds up past 2am when most of Europe has gone quiet. Turkish users are also heavy users of language filters - English and German practice are both common goals, the latter because of the enormous Turkish community in Germany.

People here tend to end up talking about football, music, learning English or German and food - not because anyone plans it, but because those are the subjects a stranger can pick up without context. If you want to steer somewhere else, just ask a question; on a voice call it is far easier to change the subject than it is in text.

The best time to find someone in Turkey

Turkey runs on UTC+3 (TRT), and its users are most active around 10pm – 3am TRT. If you are matching from another continent, that window is what to aim for - outside it you will still connect, just to a smaller pool and often to Turkishs living abroad rather than at home.
