Community Guidelines
Effective Date: 23rd September 2026 · Last Updated: 23rd September 2026
TalkLive connects adults with strangers for live voice calls and text chats. These guidelines apply to everything people bring to it: what is said in a call, typed in a chat, used as a username, nickname or profile, or shared as a GIF or link. They are part of our Terms & Conditions. If something is not allowed here, it is not allowed anywhere on TalkLive - including in private conversations between friends.
The short version
- You must be 18 or older.
- Be respectful. The person on the other end is a real person.
- Nothing sexual, nothing hateful, nothing violent, nothing illegal.
- No scams, spam, selling or recruiting.
- If someone breaks these rules, end the conversation and tap Report.
1. Adults only - and zero tolerance for anything involving minors
TalkLive is only for people aged 18 or over. It must never be used by, or to contact, anyone under 18. Any content that sexualises, exploits or endangers a child - including child sexual abuse material, grooming, sexual conversation with someone who says they are a minor, or requests for images of minors - is removed, the account and device are banned permanently, and the matter is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and/or the relevant law-enforcement authority. If you believe you are talking to a minor, end the call and report it.
2. No sexual or sexually explicit content
TalkLive is not an adult or dating service. Do not:
- share, describe or request sexually explicit text, audio, images, video or links, including pornography, nudity or sexual acts;
- engage in sexual role-play, "sexting" or sexual talk with a stranger, or pressure anyone into sexual topics;
- offer, request or advertise sexual services, escorting, prostitution, "sugar" or compensated dating, or mail-order-bride arrangements;
- share or threaten to share intimate images of anyone without their consent.
3. No hate, harassment or bullying
- No content that promotes hatred, discrimination or violence against people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, disability, age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, veteran status or any other characteristic tied to systemic discrimination.
- No slurs, dehumanising language, or symbols and propaganda of hate groups.
- No threats, intimidation, stalking, blackmail, doxxing (sharing someone's private information) or targeted harassment.
- If someone asks you to stop, or ends the conversation, respect it.
4. No violence, dangerous or shocking content
- No threats or incitement of violence, and no promotion or glorification of terrorism, violent extremism or organised crime.
- No graphic, gory or shocking content, and no content showing or encouraging cruelty to animals.
- No encouragement or instructions for suicide, self-harm or eating disorders. If you are struggling, please contact a local emergency number or crisis line - people there want to help.
- No promotion, sale or instructions for weapons, explosives, illegal drugs or other dangerous or controlled goods, or products from endangered or threatened species.
5. No scams, deception or dishonest behaviour
- No fraud, scams, phishing, "investment", romance, crypto or gift-card schemes, and no requests for money, payment or financial details.
- No impersonation of another person, a company, TalkLive staff or a public official.
- No help with dishonest behaviour: hacking or account takeover, spyware or tracking someone without consent, fake documents or IDs, fake reviews, or academic cheating services.
- No deliberately false or manipulated content presented as real to mislead people, including about elections, health or public safety.
6. No spam, selling or harmful links
- No advertising, promotion, affiliate or referral links, or recruiting people to other apps, servers or groups.
- No links or files that contain malware, spyware or unwanted software, or that lead to phishing or deceptive sites.
- No counterfeit goods, no unlicensed gambling promotion, and no sale of accounts, followers or data.
- No bots, scripts or automated use of TalkLive.
7. Respect privacy and intellectual property
- Do not record, screenshot or share a conversation without the other person's consent where the law requires it.
- Do not share anyone else's personal information - their real name, address, phone number, workplace, school or photos - without permission.
- Do not share content that infringes someone else's copyright or trademark.
- Protect yourself too: never share passwords, one-time codes, financial details or your exact location with a stranger.
8. Usernames, nicknames and profiles
Everything above applies to the names and profile details other people can see. A username or nickname that is sexual, hateful, threatening, impersonating, or advertising something will be changed or removed, and the account may be suspended.
9. How we enforce these guidelines
- Reporting. Every call and chat has a Report button. Reporting ends the conversation immediately and means you will not be matched with that person again. You can also email info@talklive.app.
- Review. Reports are reviewed by the TalkLive team. Typed text chats are kept for a limited, rolling period so reported conversations can be reviewed; voice calls are never recorded, so reports about a call are judged on the report, any automated safety alert, and the account's history.
- Automated protection. Links are blocked in chat, typed messages are checked automatically for some prohibited content, and automated safety checks run on each person's own microphone during a call (speech-to-text on desktop browsers only) (see the Privacy Policy).
- Consequences. Depending on how serious it is, a breach can lead to content removal, a warning, loss of features such as Friends, a temporary suspension, or a permanent ban of the account, device and/or network. Illegal content and anything involving minors is reported to the appropriate authorities.
- Appeals. If you think a decision was a mistake, email info@talklive.app with your username and what happened.
10. Advertising on TalkLive
TalkLive is free to use because it shows ads. Ads are labelled Advertisement and are served by Google AdSense under Google’s advertising policies. Please do not click ads you are not interested in, and never ask other users to click them - artificial clicks and impressions are not allowed. If you see an ad that seems offensive, misleading or unsafe, tell us at info@talklive.app.
11. Changes
We may update these guidelines as TalkLive changes. The date at the top of the page shows when they were last updated. See also our Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy and Safety Center.
