Privacy Policy
Effective Date: 5th July 2026 · Last Updated: 11th July 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to TalkLive. Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and the choices you have when using our services.
TalkLive is an online platform that allows users aged 18 years or older to communicate with other users through random live audio and text chat. By creating an account, signing in using Google, or using TalkLive, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please discontinue using TalkLive.
2. Scope of this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to the TalkLive website, user accounts, authentication services, live audio chat, text chat, customer support, and any future TalkLive services that reference this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party websites, applications, or services that may be linked from TalkLive.
3. Information We Collect
We collect only the information reasonably necessary to provide, secure, maintain, and improve TalkLive. Depending on how you use our services, we may collect the following categories of information.
Account Information. When you create an account, we may collect your username, display name, email address, password (stored in encrypted or hashed form where applicable), profile picture (if you upload one), and the date your account was created.
Google Sign-In. If you choose to sign in using Google, we may receive information that you authorize Google to share with us, including your Google account name, email address, profile picture, and Google account identifier. TalkLive does not receive your Google password. Your use of Google authentication is also governed by Google's own Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Technical Information. To help operate and secure TalkLive, we may automatically collect limited technical information such as IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, language preference, screen resolution, time zone, date and time of access, session identifiers, network diagnostics, error reports, and crash reports. This information helps us maintain platform security, diagnose technical issues, and improve performance.
Usage Information. We may collect information about how you use TalkLive, including login history, account activity, feature usage, connection timestamps, user preferences, language preferences, gender filter selections, and reports submitted to our moderation team. This information helps us improve our services and detect abuse.
Text Chat Messages. Text messages you type, in both stranger chat and friend chat, are kept for a limited, rolling period and may be reviewed by the site operator for safety and moderation purposes — for example to act on reports of abuse, spam, harassment, or scams. Older messages are automatically deleted as new ones arrive, and sooner if server storage rotates or restarts. Voice audio is never stored, monitored, or reviewed under any circumstance.
4. Audio Communications
TalkLive uses WebRTC (Web Real-Time Communication) technology to establish live audio conversations between users. TalkLive does not record, monitor, listen to, store, archive, or retain the contents of live audio conversations. To the best of our system design, audio streams are transmitted directly between users through WebRTC, live conversations are not stored by TalkLive after they end, and TalkLive employees and moderators do not have access to the contents of live audio conversations during normal operation.
Because internet communications involve third-party networks and technologies, no online communication can be guaranteed to be completely private or completely secure. Users should exercise caution when communicating with strangers online.
5. Text Chat
TalkLive provides text messaging features between users. Text messages are processed to deliver conversations between participants, and are kept on a rolling basis — for a limited period, with older messages automatically deleted as new ones arrive — so the site operator can review them for safety and moderation purposes, such as investigating reports of abuse, spam, harassment, or scams. TalkLive does not sell users' private conversations. Voice calls are never monitored, listened to, or recorded; this review applies only to typed text chat.
6. Information You Choose to Share
You are responsible for the information you voluntarily share with other users. Please do not disclose sensitive personal information such as your home address, phone number, banking information, credit card details, passwords, verification codes, passport information, government identification, exact location, or personal financial information. Information voluntarily shared with another user is outside TalkLive's control.
7. Cookies and Similar Technologies
TalkLive may use cookies, local storage, session storage, and similar technologies to keep users signed in, remember preferences, maintain account sessions, improve website performance, prevent fraud, enhance security, and analyze website usage. In addition, third parties — including Google — may set and read cookies on your browser, or use web beacons and similar technologies, to collect information as a result of ad serving on TalkLive, as described in Section 8 below. Users may disable cookies through their browser settings, although some features of TalkLive may not function properly.
8. Advertising (Google AdSense and Third-Party Vendors)
TalkLive displays advertisements served by Google AdSense and may work with other third-party advertising vendors and ad networks. Please note the following:
Advertising cookies. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to TalkLive and/or other websites on the internet.
Personalized advertising. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to TalkLive and/or other sites on the internet. The information collected by these technologies may include your IP address, device identifiers, browser type, pages viewed, and interactions with ads, and may be used to provide measurement services and to serve ads targeted to your interests.
Opting out. You may opt out of personalized advertising by Google by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of many third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info/choices (or, in the EU, www.youronlinechoices.eu). You can also learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Third-party vendors and ad networks. The third-party vendors and ad networks that may serve ads on TalkLive include Google AdSense. If we partner with additional certified ad networks in the future, they will operate under this same disclosure. You may visit those vendors' websites to opt out of the use of cookies for personalized advertising (if the vendor or ad network offers this capability).
Consent for users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland. If you visit TalkLive from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you will be shown a consent message (provided through a Google-certified consent management platform) before personalized advertising cookies are used. You may choose to consent, manage your options, or decline; if you do not consent to personalized ads, you may instead be shown non-personalized ads, which do not use cookies for ad targeting but may use them for frequency capping, aggregate ad reporting, and to combat fraud and abuse. You can change or withdraw your consent choices at any time via the consent message on the site.
Note on audio. As stated throughout this policy, TalkLive does not record or monitor live voice conversations, and the contents of your conversations are never used for advertising or ad targeting.
9. Information We Do Not Sell
TalkLive does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to advertisers, data brokers, or unrelated third parties for monetary compensation. If this practice ever changes, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any notices required by applicable law.
10. Children's Privacy
TalkLive is intended exclusively for individuals who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly permit minors to use our platform or knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 years of age. If we become aware that an account belongs to a person under the age of 18, we reserve the right to suspend or permanently remove the account and delete associated information where appropriate and permitted by law.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, legal obligations, or operational practices. When material changes are made, the updated Privacy Policy will be published on the TalkLive website with a revised "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of TalkLive after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
12. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect only for legitimate business and operational purposes, including to create and manage your TalkLive account, authenticate users and maintain secure login sessions, provide audio and text chat services, match users based on selected preferences such as gender filters, deliver messages and maintain active conversations, respond to support requests and user inquiries, detect and prevent fraud, spam, abuse, harassment, and other prohibited activities, protect the security, integrity, and availability of TalkLive, monitor service performance and troubleshoot technical issues, develop new features and improve the overall user experience, comply with applicable laws and lawful requests from public authorities, and enforce our Terms & Conditions and other applicable policies.
We do not use the contents of your live audio conversations for advertising, profiling, or analytics because TalkLive does not record, store, monitor, or listen to live audio conversations.
13. Legal Basis for Processing (Where Applicable)
If data protection laws such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) apply to your use of TalkLive, we may process your personal information based on your consent, performance of a contract between you and TalkLive, compliance with legal obligations, or our legitimate interests — including maintaining the security, reliability, and improvement of TalkLive — provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms.
14. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited personal information only in the following circumstances.
Service Providers. We may share information with trusted third-party service providers who help us operate TalkLive, such as providers of cloud hosting, authentication, content delivery, security and fraud prevention, data storage, analytics, customer support, email delivery, and payment processing (if introduced in the future). These providers are permitted to process personal information only as necessary to provide services on our behalf and are expected to protect it appropriately.
Legal Compliance. We may disclose information if we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to comply with applicable laws or legal obligations, respond to valid court orders, subpoenas, or lawful requests from government authorities, protect the rights, safety, property, or security of TalkLive, our users, or others, or investigate suspected fraud, abuse, or illegal activities.
Business Transactions. If TalkLive is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, asset sale, bankruptcy, or similar business transaction, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.
15. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the TalkLive service, maintain your account, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, meet legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, or reporting obligations, and protect the security and integrity of TalkLive. When information is no longer needed, we will delete, anonymize, or securely dispose of it where reasonably practicable and permitted by applicable law. Because TalkLive does not record or store live audio conversations, there are no audio recordings retained by TalkLive after conversations end. Text chat messages are kept only on a short, rolling basis for moderation as described in Section 5, and are not retained indefinitely.
16. Data Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, misuse, or destruction. These safeguards may include encryption where appropriate, secure authentication mechanisms, access controls, security monitoring, software updates, and network protection measures. However, no website, server, network, or method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Accordingly, we cannot guarantee absolute security, and you use TalkLive at your own risk.
17. International Data Transfers
TalkLive may be accessed by users located in different countries. Your personal information may be processed, stored, or transferred to countries where TalkLive or its service providers operate. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your country of residence. Where required by applicable law, we will take reasonable steps to provide appropriate safeguards for international transfers of personal information.
18. Your Privacy Choices and Rights
Depending on the laws applicable to your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information, request deletion of your account and certain personal information, object to or restrict certain processing activities where applicable, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent (this will not affect processing already carried out lawfully before withdrawal), and request a copy of certain personal information where required by applicable law.
We may request information to verify your identity before responding to certain requests. Certain rights may be limited where exceptions apply under applicable law, including where retention of information is necessary to comply with legal obligations, protect the rights of TalkLive or others, or prevent fraud or abuse.
19. Contact for Privacy Requests
For any privacy question, data access, or deletion request, email info@talklive.app. Please include the username or approximate dates of use so we can locate your data.
