Norway has an unusual relationship with its own language - dialects vary enormously and everyone writes in one of two official written standards - so Norwegians are used to adapting mid-conversation, which makes them patient matches. English fluency is near-universal.

People here tend to end up talking about the outdoors, music, travel and winter, at length - not because anyone plans it, but because those are the subjects a stranger can pick up without context. If you want to steer somewhere else, just ask a question; on a voice call it is far easier to change the subject than it is in text.

Norway runs on UTC+1 / UTC+2 (CET/CEST), and its users are most active around 8pm – midnight CET. If you are matching from another continent, that window is what to aim for - outside it you will still connect, just to a smaller pool and often to Norwegians living abroad rather than at home.
